Categories of PPE:
CAT1 - Arc-rated flame-resistant shirt, pants or coveralls with a required minimum Arc Rating of 4 PPE cal/cm2
CAT2 - Arc-rated flame-resistant shirt, pants or coveralls with a required minimum Arc Rating of 8 PPE cal/cm2
CAT3 - Arc-rated flame-resistant jacket with a required calories per cm2 25 and minimum ATPV 25 .
CAT4 - Arc-rated flame-resistant jacket with a required calories per cm2 40 and minimum ATPV 40 .
